My passion on board games started with playing board games with my family and friends. I remember playing even when I was 3 years old. My first memory is the catching Spot It game and playing it for hours. I used to just play with my sister and we used to make stories on each card also.

Now, my favorite games are:

  • Stratego: Stratego is a board game where the objective is to capture the opponents flag while protecting your own. To play the game you start by keeping your troops and then trying to advance in to the opponent’s territory and take risks to see if you can get to the opponent’s flag.
I like the fact that Stratego is easy to play with one person, a quick game and requires critical thinking. It is also fun to try to trick the opponent!
  • Stone Age: Stone Age is a game when you are controlling a clan of people in the Stone Age. You are supposed to collect resources to grow your civilization and you gets points for making buildings and getting cards. This also has an element of risk since you don’t know if you get as many resources as you want and if someone can take what you want.
Stone age applies to how stone age actually was in real life as your ancestors lived. It explains how buildings was the next step to growth, and also how the right family size was needed then to maximize the growth of your civilization.
  • Ticket to Ride: Ticket to Ride is a game about making sure your trains reach their destination and you gets points if you can make a route from the stations you are given. It is similar to Stone Age in the way that you have to collect resources to make trains and you can be blocked and have to lose points for failing to make a route.
I am big fan of trains and it is very interesting to learn what challenges somebody making train routes can face except for mechanical problems. I also like how it is a simple game, and unlike other board games, it is a chill game.
